Blackwater Engines/Production Manager (1st shift) 
 
 
Blackwater Engines is currently looking for a results-oriented, growth-minded Diesel Engines Production Manager in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The primary focus of the Remanufacturing Operations Manager is to ensure that our remanufacturing center delivers first-class service to our customers while scoping new strategies to improve our operating efficiencies while maintaining safe practices and high quality.

Job Responsibilities but not limited to the following:

•  Deliver first class service remanufacturing program to our internal and external customers.

• Communicate effectively with Site Leadership, Sales, Customer Service, Warranty and the Production Team informing and updating them regularly to ensure site business objectives are met.
• Meet all quality and delivery goals and build a team that will foster continuous improvement and employee empowerment.
• Drive creation of robust processes that drive inventory levels down while meeting customer deliveries.
• Work with Human Resources to maintain consistent and effective discipline processes reflecting site procedures and policies.
• Meet all customer commitments through the production of timely, efficient and high quality products and services.
• Assures all work is properly documented and follows standard work.
• Approve exceptional or extraordinary jobs and specifications.
• Update status and maintain production schedule.
• Organize workflow according to workload to meet delivery schedule and to complete assigned jobs.
• Assist with product costing and estimating.
• Maintain accurate and properly recorded manufacturing order and inventory data.
• Provide information to management, sales, and customer service in regards to schedules, delivery dates, etc.
• Manage the coordination and control of all jobs and work orders.
• Coordinate with purchasing for key materials and supplies, maintain effective inventory control of supplies, consumables, and product component stock levels.
• Initiate labor adjustments when needed to meet dynamic production demands.

  

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of diesel vehicle maintenance experience.
• Ability to assess personnel requirements and evaluate subordinate performance.
• Ability to train, guide, and direct a crew.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of procedures, techniques, tools to diagnose and remanufacture diesel engine.
• Knowledge of industrial and remanufacturing diesel engines systems.
• Knowledge of On-Road diesel, Medium Duty diesel, Off-Road marine, and commercial diesel long blocks.
• Manage related administrative matters for the team, maintain employee records, maintain records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed, ensure the appropriate recording of all information into company systems as required, set departmental goals to align with the targets and performance objectives established by Blackwater Engines’ leadership team.
• Requires a thorough knowledge and application of safe working practices including OSHA, Hazard Communication, Lock-Out Tag-Out, Fire Safety, Hazardous Waste Management and other federal, state and local regulations.
• Intermediate level computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Advanced Root Cause Problem Solving.
• Effective and professional communications skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Good financial management and planning skills; ability to understand financial terms, budgets, tables and reports. Ability to develop realistic, comprehensive plans to make efficient use of resources.

 
 
Physical Requirements:
May require ability to lift/push/pull heavy parts multiple times per shift.

Salary Rate Position
Full time position with competitive benefits. 401K with 4% company match after one (1) year with the company.
