Hello  to everyone.  We installed a new Axe Equipment  Spray Washer about a year agor specifically for aluminum.   We have  been fighting a severe foam issue from the very start. We have used a low foam chemical from Zep Chemical  for years. No major problem with our old machine. But we have used probably 18 -20 gallon of DeFoam in the last year. I've tried Goodson  low foam cleaner for aluminum. We now use a chemical made by Sure Chemical that is supposed to be a low foam cleaner. All work great as far as cleaning goes. However,  a week into use, all of them are foaming and making a big mess in the floor. We have tried higher temperature,  lower temperature,  less product, more product, no big difference  has been noticed.  Just curious if any of you have this problem.  Another note to add, we replaced a 20 year old machine that did not have the foam problem,  it was just too small for the volume of aluminum we are seeing today. We rarely had to add DeFoam.  I just can't see this being a machine issue,  but I'm tempted to reinstall the old machine to eliminate the mess in my floor. Any thoughts on this?

Hello everyone,  I am just curious about this. I love using PROSIS and Iam very dependent on it,  but it seems to me ever since I changed to the web version it takes a bit to long to load the info I need. I thought maybe it was my internet speed, so I just had it changed to the fastest available to me. My computer guru says its not my pc.  It seems when I'm in a hurry, which is most of the time, the seconds I stand there waiting seem like minutes. Do you guys experience this also?

Hello everyone
New dilema here! Most of our Sunnen piston pin press reducing rings are broken and need replacing.
However Sunnen no longer supports the replacements.
I'm curious what do you guys use to remove pistons from the rods?
I've bought the Regis and the Goodson kit but they don't work to well.
The Sunnen rings seem to work best, but I need to find something to replace them with now.
Any suggestions?
Thanks ,LSAMS (Larry)

Hi Guys, We are considering converting our Sunnen Cutters to something else since Sunnen no longer supplies the cutters for our VGS20 machine. Just curious if anyone has done this yet? It is just a matter of time before we are forced to do something. I would appreciate any input! Thanks Larry   (LSAMS)

Thanks Bill and Dave for your input. I have been in contact with Sunnen and my rep is working with me on this problem.  Hopefully he will come up with a solution. I'll let you know as soon as I get it figured out!

Hello Everyone,We are experiencing a severe case of stone chatter on our honing machine! We use a Peterson Power Stroke cylinder hone.It has a Delipena friction feed and a Sunnen stone holder head.We use genuine Sunnen hone stones (the AN series)It seems the stone is wearing faster than the guide. This problem started about 1 year ago.I have the same machinist using the machine for 10 years. We have always used Regis Honing oil.I bought a New friction feed and hone head assembly about 9 months ago thinking that might be the issue. We still have the same problem.   My guy will trim the stone guide a few thousands and the problem goes away for 1 or 2 cylinders, then the chatter is right back.  It starts with a squeal then changes to light chatter then a severe chatter.I don't think it is a machine issue or an operator issue.I contacted Sunnen and they feel I should change to Sunnen Hone Oil.I am going to do that this next week. However I was just curious if any of you have experienced this problem.I just think it is odd that we have used Regis Hone Oil and Sunnen stones for 18 years and the problem just started this last year or so. Sunnen says they have not changed the stone material. Regis says they have not changed the oil.Any ideas? Thanks, Larry
