Experienced Automotive Machinist & Engine Remanufacturing Production Manager

Southern California automobile engine remanufacturer seeks a Production Manager with extensive experience in all aspects of the automobile engine remanufacturing process and in automotive machine shop operations to help build and manage a high-volume engine remanufacturing facility.

Candidate must be able to perform and supervise all phases of the engine remanufacturing process including disassembly; parts cleaning, assessment and measurement; parts machining; specification of replacement components; and engine reassembly and testing.

Position Responsibilities


  • Oversee the purchase and installation of additional machining equipment to support a high volume, fully-integrated engine remanufacturing operation;
  • Recruit, hire and train machinists and engine assemblers;
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized and efficient work environment; and
  • Work closely with senior management to help expand market opportunities (high-performance engines, for example).

Position Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years hands-on experience in all phases of the automobile engine remanufacturing process;
  • Experience managing an engine machine shop and/or automobile engine remanufacturing facility;
  • Proven problem-solving, planning and leadership abilities; and
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Desired Education & Certifications

  • Associates Degree or higher
  • AERA Engine Machinist and Cylinder Head certifications
  • ASE Engine Machinist or other ASE certifications
